Clown Socks
Behind this classy jacket is a clown outfit to go with these clown socks! Something is wrong with this whole idea - clown socks don’t go with a well-dressed woman who obviously has good taste otherwise.
Don’t look below her knees and it’s fine. Exactly what shoes would she wear with those socks? Geez, I know there’s a craze on for socks but these are ridiculous beyond comprehension.

Could be a new hair removal system!
Why waste time shaving, when you can scare the hair away?
After thought: It looks like the socks may actually match something hidden under the coat!

Hm. Okay, so they don’t go with the coat, that’s for sure. But for something to wear on a supremely gray day in the middle of a drizzly gray Seattle winter? I think they’re awfully cheerful.

only in vogue knitting would you find something like this.

I’m all for colorful socks, but are those pom poms at the knees???

I like them! I wouldn’t wear them out, but I’d wear them at home. I wouldn’t make them, but if someone gave them to me I’d cut off the pom-poms and use them.
They look a great deal like Guatamalan tapestry crochet, in my opinion.

Comic relief, perhaps?

I’m just saying if you have that much knitting tallent & that much time, you surely have something better to do. A person could make a whole sweater for the time that was invested in these. And what do you wear them with? Pants would cover, no skirt would look good with something this busy & casual. I’d rather spend my time making toilet paper covers than this!

I like them. They may not match the outfit, and I’d ditch the pom-poms, but they seem bright and cheerful to me.

They’re happy happy socks! And they’re killing me with the happy happy.
Do they have a pattern for dreary, grumpy socks?

Obviously, shes a news anchor.

These are wonderful. So far the hideous cat suit is the only really fugly thing you’ve posted. The sweater with the yarn meatballs on it is pretty bad too, but not even close. I sought out the pattern for the Halloween vest, found the book for sale on Knit Picks site, and posted a link to it on my own site. You really would have done better to feature more of the catsuit designer’s weird items, as I sure did on my own site.

What kind of shoes would you wear with these socks–why, Crocs, of course–or roller skates. And surely there’s a matching hat.

Yeah, they’re bright and cheery…ditch the poms. I wouldn’t wear them, I like matching Seattle winters…LOL. Me? In COLOURS? I don’t think so.

What shoes? Ruby slippers!

I rather love these socks, actually. I like the folk art design and the color palette is loud but well-harmonized. I agree that the pom-poms don’t help (I’m not much of a bobble or pom-pom fan in general).
I would wear these socks with a simple grey skirt and black or hot pink chinese slippers.
It takes guts to stand out, and it helps to live in an urban area where people aren’t afraid to wear quirky things, but bright patterns like this can cheer up your entire day.

Call me a fug-lover, but I like the socks. Do they put weird, crazy things on an otherwise normal looking person to call attention to the weird crazy things?
Pom-poms must go…will have nightmares…

Wow, I love those socks. I used to wear socks like that to the nursing home where I worked to cheer people up. Nothing brightens up peoples day like brightly colored fugly socks!

this made me sad
i really loved these in the magazine… but im just a “rainbow toe-socks etcetera” kind of person.

What if there was a dress to match the socks, but when the model showed up wearing the ensemble all of the set dressers passed out? so they put that lovely tweed coat on her over the distressing dress and just photographed the socks?

what the !@#$% are those supposed to be?
