It was cute until they added pompoms.

why does it need pompoms?

You have to give her credit for attempting to hold it in front of her face so she wouldn’t be recognized. Quick thinking!

Cute until…? I find that debatable.
Incidentally, I saw some really adorable knit purses complete with pom-poms the other day. They were smaller and they coordinated… I liked them.
I don’t like these poms either… but I don’t like it either way. So I couldn’t, personally, blame the concept of pom-poms for ruining this.

The pom poms are the ends of the drawstrings. Isn’t that sassy and clever? But why would anyone under the age of 90 want a knit purse? What I’M interested in seeing is the article mentioned on the cover: “invest in VESTS! for the whole family”. I especially like the exclamation point in the middle of the sentence. They got so darned excited, they had to say! so before they were done.

They’re not pom-poms; they’re TRIBBLES!

I do have a knit purse, no tassels, and everytime I carry it, teenage and college age girls ask me where I got it. So it isn’t just old ladies over 90 that like these purses. The purse in the pic isn’t too bad, but it would look more chic without thingys hanging all over it.

If they just HAD to put pom poms on the thing….did they have to be *pink*?

I am sitting here laughing my head off from viewing all the What not to Knit entries you have posted. I end up laughing harder at your comments, like the knit cap with the buttons on it; just slap one here… Thanks for all the laughs.

Cut the lady some slack. She only has one eye.

I thought it was kind of cute, and something different than a bored looking model wearing another sweater on the cover.
I didn’t even notice the pom-poms at first because they were the same color as the model’s shirt, but I agree that the purse is better without them.

My first thought was that this was one of those “put your UFO to good use” projects made with a failed cable-knit sweater.

Ugh! I have a copy of this magazine and ever time that I look at it, I don’t like it. It’s not the pompoms or the color or that it is a knit purse. The gauge is too big for the project. It’s grossly disproportionate to the handles and it urks me.

did you open the magazine? there’s fuglier stuff in there than that bag! i kinda regret buying the issue!
but i agree… it was cute until they added pom poms!

I though it looks fun for children but not for mine(lol).

Thank god I’m not the only one who disliked all the pom poms. I thought it might be the new fad. Since I’ve hit my fifties, and have no kids, I’ve no idea what the kids think is chic.
Now what do I do with all the pom pom makers I bought for my shop?

nobody would really carry that stupid thing.
