Long Knit Dress + Brown Belt+ Beige Boots = Awesome

The image “http://farm1.static.flickr.com/192/513031504_5330a39b87.jpg?v=0” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Question is, did the model bring the “accessories” or did they purdy her up in them there fineries?

Yee haw! They just forgot the six-shooters…can’t tell if the spurs are on! The shoulders make her head look pretty darn small…maybe that’s how she got roped into modeling the dress????

  2. Top Hat Says:

You musn’t forget those attractive shoulder pads!

  3. Leisel Says:

Okay… the model looks as wide as a house, and I’m trying to figure out if it’s all because of the thick, baggy, shapeless knit dress, or if it might also have to do with something they did wrong with the camera.

All other matters aside, that is a really bizzarre photo. She’s got that MY HED IS PASTEDE ON look about her. Not to mention the bust obliterating quality to the dress itself.

  5. Carol Says:

Wow, that dress is just all sorts of unattractive. Maybe without the ribbed sleeves and turtleneck. And if it were just a sweater. You know, sleeveless and scoop neck, so basically a vest. You know what, I don’t even like vests. Nevermind. :)

  6. Shellie Says:

Even without the “purdy accessories” that is horrible! Looks like a fitted blanket and that ribbed top looks awful with it. ICK

EEEEEEEEEUUUUUUWUWWWW!!!! So becoming! Way to dress so nobody knows what shape you actually are! Hmmmmmmm maybe that’s good!? So ugly. So so ugly. :))

First off, thank you for keeping WNTK going! I had this page bookmarked and I missed it while it was on hiatus.

I gotta ask about some of these pictures, though. Are the originals really stretched out like that? Or did they get messed up in the process of scanning or formatting? Ugly ugly sweater dress aside, it looks like her torso got enlarged and her head got smooshed.

I don’t know what to say. This is so, so clunkily ugly. It’s like the pinnacle (nadir?) of 80s fashion. A real find. Now please destroy it, before somebody gets hurt.

This can be summed up with the same single word as Lavender Brown’s thoughts on the Blast-Ended Skrewt: Eurgh.

  11. Jeannette Says:

Ok, so it looks like it was originally modeled by a line backer, and then they photoshop-ed your mom’s head from a picture taken in the 80’s and didn’t bother to make sure the scale was right.

  12. pricklypanda Says:

Another example of why 80s knitting patterns shouldn’t be brought back.

  13. tirethminet Says:

that might be okay, in 80s land.
but with a shorter skirt and minus those creepy shoulder pads and the accessories.

also, i would like to point out that the only reason her head is so tiny is not because of the knit or the original photographer’s error. who ever took the picture of this image decided to just angle the lens from the bottom instead of centering the lens over the image.
